Lelit Elizabeth (PL92T)
From £1,139.99
The Elizabeth is a compact, quiet machine with two boilers, one for brewing and one for steam, so you can make a shot and froth milk at the same time. You can set each boiler's temperature and programme the pre-infusion, which is more control than most people need. The boilers are small, which is fine for two people's morning coffees but means steam runs short when you're making drinks for a crowd.

At a glance
At a glanceWhat's good
- Each boiler has its own temperature setting, and you can brew and steam at the same time.
- The display times each shot, and there's a brew-pressure gauge and programmable pre-infusion.
- Reviewers measured it at around 45–50dB, which is unusually quiet for an espresso machine.
- It's ready in about eight minutes, which is quick for a machine with two boilers.
Worth knowing
- The boilers are small (300ml for brewing, 600ml for steam), so steam runs low if you make several large milk drinks in a row.
- You fill the water tank from the back, and it has no handle.
- The advanced settings are hidden in menus that the manual barely explains.
- It only comes in brushed stainless steel.
