Privacy

Summary

We don’t set cookies, we don’t track you across other sites, and we don’t collect your name, email address or anything else that identifies you. That’s why there’s no cookie banner: there is nothing to consent to.

What we do measure

• Page views, using Cloudflare Web Analytics. It doesn’t use cookies or local storage, and it doesn’t fingerprint your device. We see totals, such as how many people read a guide, not individuals.
• Clicks on retailer links. When you follow a link to a retailer through our site, we count the click: which product, which retailer, and which of our pages you came from. We don’t record who you are, your IP address or your device.
• Which products people compare. When you pick two products in the compare tool, we add one to a running total for that pair, so we know which comparisons are worth writing up properly. Nothing else is recorded with it.

Your quiz answers

Your answers to the quiz live only in the page address (the part after the question mark), so you can share or bookmark your results. We don’t store them.

Our hosting

The site is hosted by Cloudflare. To deliver pages and protect the site from abuse, Cloudflare processes the technical details of each request, such as your IP address, as any web host must. You can read Cloudflare’s privacy policy.

When you visit a retailer

Once you follow a link to a retailer, you’re on their site and their privacy policy applies. Retailers and affiliate networks use cookies to record that you came from us, which is how we get paid. Their cookie notices let you choose what to allow.

Your rights

Because we don’t hold personal data about you, there’s normally nothing for us to show you, correct or delete. If you think we hold something about you, or you have any question about this page, email us and we’ll reply.
