The Barista Pro is for people who want a built-in grinder and don't want to wait for their coffee. It's ready about three seconds after you switch it on and moves from brewing to steaming almost straight away. It has no pressure gauge, unlike the Barista Express, and you can't upgrade the grinder on its own.

At a glance
At a glanceWhat's good
- It's ready in three seconds and switches quickly from brewing to steaming.
- The grinder has 30 settings, nearly twice as many as the Barista Express, so you can make smaller adjustments.
- The screen shows how long each shot and each grind took, so you can repeat one you liked.
- There's a separate hot-water outlet for americanos.
Worth knowing
- There's no pressure gauge, so you judge each shot by its time and taste.
- You can't brew and steam at the same time, because one heater does both jobs.
- If you outgrow the built-in grinder, you can't replace it with a better one.
- It's about 41cm tall, which may be too tall for the space under your cupboards.
